Union City Music Project wants every young person in Hudson County to have access to high quality music & art education. UCMP has a vision to provide after-school programming in every municipality in the county. Together with community leaders, parents, educators and supporters, we see a thriving music program throughout our region that will touch the lives of future generations for years to come.
UCMP’s goal is to empower Hudson County’s children to reach their full potential by: (1) providing children and youth from preschool through high school with free instruments and low-cost orchestral instruction by professional music educators and artists; (2) engaging parents in their children’s learning process; (3) cultivating self-esteem, self-expression, and cooperative learning in children and youth; and 4) creating a sense of belonging and providing a safe haven of creativity; 5) offering regular performance opportunities through UCMP’s Children’s and Youth Orchestras and Chorus.
