The Jersey City Art & Studio Tour (JCAST) returns for its 37th year—continuing its legacy as one of the oldest and most dynamic artist open studio tours in the Northeast.
For nearly four decades, JCAST has transformed Jersey City into a vibrant, citywide arts experience—activating studios, galleries, and public spaces across every ward. It brings together artists, collectors, curators, cultural leaders, and visitors to celebrate creativity while driving tourism, economic growth, and neighborhood revitalization.
Join us this fall as we continue to position Jersey City as a regional leader in arts, culture, and the creative economy.
JCAST is about connecting thousands of people with localized art and the different neighborhoods and various cultures that define Jersey City.
The dates are set: October 1–4, 2026.
The Jersey City Art and Studio Tour (JCAST) began as an invitation to visit artists’ studios, retailers and other downtown spaces, including the historic 111 First Street art collective and has been re-imagined several times over the ensuing decades. The inaugural studio tour was held in 1990 and spearheaded by Charles Kessler and Pat Donnelly of Gold Coast Magazine (a Jersey Journal weekly).
From 1994 to 2013 it was presented by nonprofit Pro Arts, a professional artist membership organization, in partnership with the City of Jersey City, and then the City’s Office of Cultural Affairs took over sole operations from 2014 through 2022.
