Liberty State Park

Liberty State Park

Liberty State Park packs green space, city views, watersports, history, and more—all into one 1,200-acre urban oasis. Situated on Hudson River across from Lower Manhattan, the two-mile Liberty Walk promenade boasts unparalleled glimpses of the One World Trade Center and Battery Park. You’ll also find an outdoor performance area, an interpretive center, and the perfect picnic spot to relax on the waterfront. If you’d rather get in the water than admire it, try a  kayak eco-tour, which you can book by phone at (201) 915-3400 x202.

The vistas may be gorgeous, but Liberty State Park is more than a pretty park. It’s a historic gateway to America, past and present, with access to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island via Statue Cruises (which launch from the park), the architecturally magnificent Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal building, and the humbling Empty Sky 9/11 memorial, which pays homage to New Jerseyans who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Another can’t-miss Liberty State Park attraction is the Liberty Science Center, an immersive, hands-on science museum that’s perfect for families, science lovers, space enthusiasts, and more.
