This powerful memorial connects New Jersey to Ground Zero by honoring and remembering the names of the 749 people with ties to New Jersey, who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Empty Sky was created in proportion to the World Trade Center which once stood just across the Hudson River. The stainless steel walls, engraved with the names of the victims, stand parallel to each other and reflect the changing light of day, just as the Word Trade Center Towers did. The memorial encourages visitors to look and act forward in memory of the tragic events that took place on September 11th.
