The Garden is open 24 hours a day, but you must be a member to gain access to it. Membership is $35 per year. Also holds public community gardening events.
Founded in 2000, the Brunswick Community Garden has grown into a vibrant green oasis on Brunswick Street alongside the 6th Street Historic Railroad Embankment in Jersey City, NJ. We are a New Jersey nonprofit community garden, Certified Wildlife Habitat, and proudly recognized as a pollinator-friendly green space in our urban neighborhood. Through the City’s Adopt-ALot program, we preserve and steward this special place — an open sanctuary where nature, food, and community thrive together.
Our members support community food growing, urban forestry, ornamental gardening, and ecological care. Members receive gate access and may enjoy the shared garden space year-round. Those interested in an individual plot may apply; there is currently a waiting list. We are proud of our history and committed to ensuring this urban oasis thrives for generations to come.
