“New Name, Who Dis?”
The 6th Borough Comedy Festival was started in 2017 to showcase talented comedians from Jersey City and beyond. The festival features stand up, sketch, improv, roast battles, podcasts and industry parties, putting a premium on diversity and inclusion in comedy. Two years, 210 performers, and over 1200 audience members later, we’re changing the name to better reflect the great city we call home.
We are excited to welcome you to the Jersey City Comedy Festival!
In past years we’ve had industry from Comedy Central, Stand Up NY, Catch A Rising Star and West Side Comedy Club watch the stand up comedy showcases. Last year’s winner -Sagar Bhatt- received a weekend headlining show at Stand Up NY! This year TheIndustryRoom.com and Broadway Comedy Club will award primetime spots to selected stand-up comedians! Added this year to watch the Sketch and Improv showcases is Avanti Talent who specializes in transitioning and developing performers for scripted tv content for streaming, cable and broadcast networks.
