Canopy by Hilton Jersey City Arts District presents Saehyun Paik

Canopy is proud to partner with ARTS 14C on a 2025 exhibition series that brings work from ARTS 14C’s extensive network of artists into the heart of our hotel. Featuring rotating, three-month exhibitions, this collaboration offers guests and the local community a vibrant way to experience the breadth and diversity of contemporary art throughout the year.

Saehyun Paik, current resident of Project 14C, born in South Korea and based in Jersey City, is an artist whose work investigates emotional nuance and abstract expression. Trained at the Samsung Art and Design Institute (SADI), she moved to the United States in 2010 to pursue deeper artistic freedom and exploration. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, Paik reflects themes of isolation, resilience, and silent transformation.

Her works are rooted in an intuitive process, often layering oil paints, textures, and bold color relationships to express unspoken experiences. During Paik’s 2019–2023 artist residency at ChaShaMa she honed her signature visual language—one that fuses softness with energy, repetition with spontaneity.

Paik’s creative process is informed by early challenges with communication, which led her to discover art as a primary language. Influenced by her own journey between cultures, she explores themes of disconnection, reinvention, and identity.

Paik’s expansion into 3D modeling and custom jewelry design has earned her recognition in the fashion and music worlds. Her collaborations include projects with Grammy-winning artists and professional athletes, reflecting her ability to translate artistic vision across mediums.
