Call for Art (JCFPL PRIDE ART EXHIBITION)

Type of Art Accepted:

Due to the space and the popularity of the Multipurpose room, we will only be accepting art that can be displayed on an easel, for convenience this means art that is 2D in its components. We will not accept sculptural art, visual media, or audio material. We highly encourage painted materials, photography, collages, etc.

Artists are encouraged to send a maximum of 10 pieces for consideration. We will accept art with a maximum dimension of 36″W x 63″H.

Please be aware that JCFPL maintains a family-friendly atmosphere. All art must be considered Safe For Work (SFW). Those who are reviewing the art will use their own discretion on the acceptance of art based on NSFW/SFW criteria.

Please submit any art you are interested in having showcased in a .zip file of .pdfs or as individual files saved in the .pdf format. Thank you.

When submitting art, please include Title, Medium, and Dimensions for each piece.

Dropping Off/Storing/Picking Up Art:

Art must be ready for display and delivered to Priscilla Gardner Main Branch between the dates of August 12th and August 18th. Art will be stored in the Multipurpose Room and displayed for the dates of August 22nd to August 29th. Art must be picked between up September 1st and September 5th. We are limited in our flexibility for pick up and drop off times, please only submit art if you can drop off and pick up art between the written times. Thank you.

These pick up and drop off hours are limited to the hours that the Priscilla Gardner Main Library Branch is open. M-TH 9-8PM and FR-SA 9-5PM.

Pricing/Sales

JCFPL is not allowed to take part in any sale of art. The artist can display their contact information or pricing list of their displayed art. The artist and the interested party can discuss payment and transportation of the art piece between private correspondence. JCFPL will not be taking any percentage of profit from the sale of pieces during the exhibit.

Promotion and Attendance

JCFPL will be promoting the queer art exhibition through social media channels, as well as with our collaborative relationships throughout Jersey City. We also encourage artists who are involved in the show to promote the show on their own socials. We are hoping to hold a reception for the Queer Art Exhibition on August 22nd after the scheduled hours of the Main library.

· Rolling submissions open: July 14th, 2025 (7/14/2025)

· Rolling submissions close: August 12th, 2025 (8/11/2025)

· Notifications: From July 14th, 2025 (7/14/2025) until August 11th, 2025 (8/11/2025)

· Delivery: August 12th, 2025 (8/12/2025) to August 18th, 2025 (8/18/2025)

· Show Dates: August 22nd – August 29th (8/22/2025 – 8/29/2025)

· Artists reception: August 22nd, 6-9pm.

· Closing Day: August 29th

· Art Pick up: September 1st to September 7th (9/01/2025-9/05/2025)
