The Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation (PATH) was established in 1962 as a subsidiary of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The heavy rail rapid-transit system serves as the primary transit link between Manhattan and neighboring New Jersey urban communities, as well as suburban commuter railroads. PATH operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is dedicated to continually supporting the anticipated growth in regional, residential, commercial, and business development.

 

Fast Facts

-Serves multiple parts of Hudson County with stops in Hoboken and Harrison and 4 stops in Jersey City (Grove Street, Exchange Place, Journal Square, and Newport)

-Bicycles are allowed on the PATH provided they are folded up and they are not ridden on the escalators, platforms or trains

-Mobile device charging kiosks are available at the subway stations

-During the peak periods, train service is every 4-5 minutes on the NWK-WTC & JSQ-33 lines, and 6-7 minutes on the HOB-33 & HOB-WTC lines.

-To get real time train updates, riders are encouraged to download the RidePATH app

-Riders can purchase single tickets for $2.75 per ride, Metrocards can also be used

-Riders can get multiple trips at a discounted rate by buying a SmartLink card. Cards get be stocked in 10, 20, 40 or Unlimited Rides and can be bought online or in person
